Sega game developer Takashi Iizuka announced at a panel at the SXSW event on Saturday that Sega is developing “the next major” title in the Sonic the Hedgehog game series. Iizuka did not provide any other information about the new game at the panel, but thanked fans for their patience in waiting until Sega “has something to show” regarding the game.

Sega will release the Team Sonic Racing game (pictured at right) on May 21. The game is slated physically and digitally for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, with a digital-only release on PC. The game is a kart racing game featuring characters from the franchise that will feature both online multiplayer and single player modes. The game will also feature team vs. team gameplay.
